In our centre we successfully run The Bilingual Children’s theatre club “Kaleidoscope”.*
The young artists have repeatedly taken part in local and international children’s theatre festivals, where they won trophies and prizes
History of the group
The idea of creating a theatre club arose almost simultaneously with the opening of the centre. After our first performance and fantastic reviews from the audience, it became clear that a creative club was needed.
And here is the first victory! “Kaleidoscope” wins first place at the British festival of children’s Russian-speaking groups “Karavai” in London.
Over the 5 years of the club`s existence we produced 9 showcases. Our young actors received prizes at local and international children’s theatre festivals. Particularly memorable was the performance in Minsk, at the International Student theatre festival “Teatralny Kufar-2018”, where “Kaleidoscope” won honoured second place.
We have performed in London, Oxford and Brighton. We went on a creative experience exchange to Montenegro, Spain and Denmark.
During the classes, the children learn the basics of acting and stage speech. We read and discuss plays by Russian and foreign authors.
But the most important thing is that our children have the opportunity to communicate in Russian and English.
And even if not all of them become actors, it is important for us to help the children to develop their confidence through drama and performing arts.
